*Journal about something you read that was an inspiration to you.

Come prepared to play a short listening game!

If you have Legos you can bring, please email Sister Gilbert
growingwithtruth10@gmail.com. And let me know a rough estimate on how many bricks you can bring, along with the amount and sizes of bases you have.

#2 Biography focus: JOHN WOODEN
KNOWLEDGE: Do all the following to create knowledge
#1-Study the life of John Wooden on one of these two sites or any other source you and your parents deem appropriate:
His “official” website: http://www.coachwooden.com/index2.html
#2 Write down three facts about him and come prepared to share one with others
Bring a quote you liked to share with us.
UNDERSTANDING: Choose one or more of the following to take your knowledge to understanding:

-John Wooden mentions his “pyramid of success” in the TED talk.  You can find a version of it here: http://www.coachwooden.com/pyramidpdf.pdf.  Make your own pyramid of success, whether on paper or out of blocks or some other medium and bring it to class to show it.  What principles would be on your pyramid?  Would “integrity” be on it?  Where?
-Take a word that you believe describes him and do a word study on it.
-Make a collection of John Wooden quotes and put them on display or record them somewhere.  Share them with someone (or us!)
-Draw a picture of coach Wooden (you can do it while listening to his TED talk J) or make a video about him to share with us.
INTELLIGENCE:  Do one or both of the following to create intelligence:
-Think of some area of your life in which you are a leader.  Make your own pyramid of success for that area of your life, including items that you feel will help you succeed. Bring it to class to share.
-Take one of the keys of success listed in the article at: http://www.success.com/article/words-of-wisdom-ucla-legend-john-wooden and make a goal for yourself to improve in this area.  Write it down, show it to your parent or running partner, then work on it for at least three days and then report to us in Vanguard.
We will be playing a basketball-type game in class, so sharpen up your shooting skills!
