LEADERSHIP ACDEMY: MASTER CLASS

Do the inspirements in all three sections to help you master the art of leadership!

Section 1: “The Art of Argument” book: Fallacies!

Review entire book by looking at all the cool comics and ads! Try to understand the fallacy in each one, even if you don’t understand the name of the fallacy.  Choose your favorite 5 and come prepared to share at least one.  (You can borrow mine if you need to!)

Section 2: “Choosing Civility” by Forni:

Read Part 3 (25 pages) and write a sentence that is your “Take Home Message” from what you read (the concept that you feel was the most important in what you read)

Section 3: “Whatever Happened to Justice?”

I. SEEK KNOWLEDGE: Highlight and bring favorite quotes from the following

1.       Read Whatever happened to Justice: Chapters 24-31

2.       Read D&C 121: 34-46  

3.       Do a word study on power.  Then observe your own behavior for a day.  Are there times when you do or could abuse power?   Find examples of leaders who inspire but do not abuse the power they have.

II. GAIN UNDERSTANDING: After you have read the book, pick something that came up in your studies or that came to mind as you were studying it and study it deeper to gain better understanding.  Check out the blog for ideas and suggestions, but make it your own!

III INTELLIGENCE: Come to Master class prepared to participate in a game, “Nomics Re-Visited,” a game comparing Political Law and Scientific Law.
